Charles Austin Smith

Charles Austin Smith leaves his wife, Cecilia "Tita" Brid de Smith, three children, and five grandchildren. He served his country in the US Army from 1946 until his retirement as a Lt.Col. in 1967. He received numerous awards, medals and commendations. Among these were the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. After his discharge he returned to the Panama Canal Zone and worked for the Army as a civilian until 1977. He and his wife then returned to the United States. They moved back to Panama in 2003.


Post 3822 Commander Richard A. Allar and Past District 1 Commander Dalton Johnson. Comrade Dalton is the acting Chaplain and reads the prayer.

Honor Guards of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Panama Posts 3822 and 3835 provided the military honors at the Corozal American Cemetery and Memorial.
