A Veteran laid to rest

The funeral was held Nov 20, 2013 at 1100 hrs at Colinas de la Paz in Chorrera.

James Royce Wilkins

James R. Wilkins was born 4 April 1934 in Wimauma Florida and passed away 5 Nov 2013. He enlisted in the US Army 13 April 1951 in Tampa Florida. He served two tours in Vietnam Ben Hue 101st Airborne Div and also two tours in Korea. He also served in Germany.

He was awarded many Vietnam Medals. He retired on May 31 1972 at Ft. Gulick Canal Zone with 20 years of military service as a SFC (E-7) where he was in the Co A,8th Special Forces (Abn)USARSO.

He worked for the Panama Canal Commision many years and then retired again.

He joined VFW Post 3822 on 28 January 1974 . He became a life member of the VFW on December 14 1985. In the VFW he held many positions. He was the Commander of the Department of Latin America/Caribbean in 1986-87 as well as holding many positions in Post 3822.

Honor Guards of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Panama Posts 3822 and 3835 provided the military honors.
